Taking strong exception to the delay in the investigation of the murders of rationalist Dr Narendra Dabholkar and senior CPI leader Govind Pansare, the Bombay high court today said that the killings of these thinkers has shaken the country and directed the investigating agencies to promptly trace the killers of these intellectuals.
A division bench of Justices S Dharmadhikari and Bharti Dangre was hearing petitions filed by the Dabholkar-Pansare families, who expressed their displeasure on the course of investigation in the
two murder cases.
The Dabholkar-Pansare families once again demanded in the high court that these murder cases be handed over to the National Investigation Agency, as the CBI or SIT does not have the mechanism available with NIA.
Then, the court directed the Special Investigation Team of Kolhapur Police to investigate the killing of Pansare promptly.
The high court also directed the investigators to submit the latest report during the next hearing in this regard
