Harish Rawat led Congress government in Uttarakhand facing deep as 35 MLAs, including Congress rebels, arrive in Delhi to meet Amit Shah .

While Chief Minister Harish Rawat maintained he had majority in the House, a three-member BJP delegation met Governor K K Paul late at night, seeking dismissal of the Rawat government.

At least nine MLAs of the ruling Congress in Uttarakhand, have revolted against their own Government. With this, the Harish Rawat- led Government is running the risk of losing majority in the State Assembly.

However, Chief Minister Harish Rawat claimed full majority and warned disciplinary action against the rebel Congress MLAs.

Congress accuses BJP of destabilizing government in Uttarakhand

Congress has charged the BJP with making attempts to destabilize its government in Uttarakhand. Talking to media in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said, Congress is not scared of such conspiracies. He said, it is unfortunate that first elected governments are destabilized by a conspiracy and then they are sought to be unseated without will of people.

The BJP had reportedly staked claim to form government in Uttarakhand with support from rebel Congress MLAs. A delegation of BJP members had met the Governor Friday.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, BJP leader Srikant Sharma said, Congress government in the state must be dismissed immediately because the majority is not with Chief Minister Harish Rawat.

BJP is claiming that nearly 12 Congress MLAs have expressed an interest to switch sides.
