Goa government on Tuesday issued an order imposing a ban on the import of fish into the state.
The order exempts traders and transporters related to fish business who have complied with Food Safety and Standard Act, Rules and Regulations, including those who have obtained licences and registration.
The state police and transport departments have been directed to implement the restrictions.
The decision has been taken in view of continuing uncertainty about the presence of formalin in imported fish in Goa.
