In yet another incident of ceasefire violation, along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan forces resorted to heavy shelling and firing on forward Indian posts in Poonch district this morning.According to Defence sources, the forces from across the Line of Control started unprovoked firing and shelling in Shahpur sector around 11 am this morning.

The troops guarding the borderline also retaliated the shelling effectively and heavy exchange of fire was going on when last reports came in. No injury to anyone or casualty has been reported from the Indian side so far.

Last night also Pakistan forces shelled and fired in Pallanwalan area of Akhnoor sector along the Line of Control in Jammu district.

Meanwhile, in the wake of firing and escalated tension along the border, some people from areas lying very close to LoC and International Border have started shifting to safer places. Administration has been providing accommodation to these people in camps.

In another development, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar chaired a high level security meeting in New Delhi today. Chief of three services were present in the meeting.
