Former Chief Minister of Odisha,Dr. Giridhar Gamang, today met BJP President Amit Shah at New Delhi and expressed his willingness to join the party. He was accompanied by his son Shishir Gamang, who also wished to join the BJP. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP’s Odisha In-Charge Arun Singh were present at the meeting. Dr Gamang is likely to formally join BJP at a grand meeting at Bhubaneswar shortly. Dr. Gamang, a nine-time Lok Sabha MP from Koraput, a former Union Minister and Ex-PCC President, was the most popular tribal face of the Congress in Odisha. He resigned from the Congress a few days ago alleging that he was disregarded and ill-treated within the party. He rejected invitation of Congress president Sonia Gandhi for a discussion on his resignation from the party.
