Foreign Ministers of the Group of 7 countries have began a meeting in Hiroshima today. The gathering is the first of 10 ministerial talks Japan will host around the G7 summit in central Japan in late May.
Japan hopes holding the meeting in the atomic-bombed city will boost the international movement toward a world without nuclear weapons. The meeting is hosting Foreign Ministers from both nuclear and non-nuclear armed states. On Monday, they will visit the memorial park and museum that commemorate the 1945 atomic bombing.
Over 2 days, the ministers will also discuss a list of other global issues, including terrorism and the refugee crisis.
