IF variuos exit polls are to be believed BJP is all set to sweep the assembly polls in North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh and is expected to retain power in Gujarat.
The exit polls show that BJP is likely to win in Gujarat with a comfortable majority in a fiercely contested assembly elections, braving a two decade old incumbency in the state.
According to Times Now-VMR Exit Poll, the saffron party is likely to win 109 seats in 182-member assembly as against 70 by Congress, while another exit poll by Republic TV-C-Voter gave BJP 108 seats and the Congress only 74.
According to the India Today- Axis My India exit poll, BJP is set to win Himachal Pradesh with 47-55 seats, while Congress would have to settle for 13-20 seats.The Times of India Online-CVoter exit poll revealed that BJP is likely to win the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections with 41 seats, while Congress’ seat share is set to fall to 25 seats.
Exit poll results released by Today’s Chanakya stated that the saffron party is likely to win 55 seats while the ruling Congress party will be reduced to 13.The poll results also indicated that the BJP would win with a 51 percent vote share in Himachal Pradesh, while Congress’s vote share would be 38 percent. The agency said that the final result could be somewhere between plus or minus seven in terms of the seat share and three percent in terms of the vote share.According to the Times Now-VMR exit poll, the BJP would win 51 seats while the Congress would end up with 17 seats.
Polling for second and final phase of Assembly elections in Gujarat came to an end today evening at 5 pm.Of the total 182 constituencies, 93 in North and Central Gujarat went to polls in this phase.About 68.7 per cent voter turnout has been recorded. Polling for the first phase was held on the 9th of this month.Counting of votes will take place on Monday, alongside the Himachal Assembly which went to polls on 9th of last month.
