Election Commission has asked former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to submit his response by 2 PM today in connection with the dispute between him and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde about the election symbol of Shiv Sena Party – Bow and Arrow.

The Shinde-led faction has submitted a memorandum seeking allocation of the symbol to it in view of the bye-election to Andheri East Assembly Constituency. In a letter, the Commission asked Mr. Thackeray to furnish his comments along with requisite documents by today. It said, in case no reply is received, the Commission will take appropriate action in the matter accordingly.
