kirti-azad- pcAdding fuel into the fire to the DDCA controversy, BJP leader, MP and former cricketer Kirti Azad today alleged that Delhi and District Cricket Association, DDCA gave contracts to bogus companies and payments were made without any verification.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Mr Azad released a video that claimed DDCA gave contracts to various companies, but the addresses given for these were found to be false.

He also claimed that fourteen companies whose bills were mostly cleared by DDCA in cash, were found to be fake.

The video also alleged that the cricket body hired office equipment at inflated rates. Mr Azad clarified that it was not a fight against any individual but fight against corruption.

He also emphatically said that he is a big fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and praised the NDA government’s action against corruption.

Flanked by former cricketers Bishen Singh Bedi and Surinder Khanna, Mr. Azad repeatedly said there was no personal fight in his principled campaign but played footage of a DDCA AGM of 2011-12, which purportedly showed Mr. Azad questioning Mr. Jaitley, who was in the chair.

Asked repeatedly as to why he was not taking the name of Mr. Jaitley and what his allegations against him were, Mr. Azad said there was no personal or political fight. “It is a matter of principles and we have been fighting this battle for the last nine years,” he said.
