For the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Congress party released another list of 10 candidates on Sunday (April 14). Party has announced the names of 10 candidates from three states in this list. Congress has given ticket to Kanhaiya Kumar from North East Delhi. Kanhaiya Kumar will take on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Manoj Tiwari. The party has announced 3 candidates for Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, six in Punjab and one in Uttar Pradesh.

Whereas, ticket has been given to JP Aggarwal from Chandni Chowk seat of Delhi and Udit Raj from North West Delhi. Congress has given tickets to Dharamveer Gandhi from Patiala, Sukhpal Singh Khaira from Sangrur, Gurjit Aujla from Amritsar, former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi from Jalandhar and Ujjwal Revati Raman from Allahabad.

37-year-old Kanhaiya Kumar is a resident of Begusarai, Bihar, this time he will contest the Lok Sabha elections for the second time.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he contested against Union Minister Giriraj Singh from Begusarai Lok Sabha seat on Communist Party of India (CPI) ticket. In that election he had to face defeat by more than 4 lakh votes. Former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar joined Congress in 2021 and was inducted into the Congress Working Committee (CWC) in 2023.
