Congress today alleged that Centre has gone back on its promise to provide Rs 44,000 crore to flood hit Jammu and Kashmir last year. Briefing media on the anniversary of the deluge, party spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said state has received only Rs 839 crore so far. Mr Singhvi said this amount is part of an earlier announced reconstruction package by the Prime Minister. He said the state is on a shutdown today not because of terror, but because of what he called Centre’s failure to provide flood aid.
