On the claim of a temple being present at the dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, SP national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman has expressed his sharp reaction and said that this dargah is of the 11th century and Khwaja Garib Nawaz died in 1236 AD.

Suman said that we strongly condemn the forces that are disturbing social harmony. We urge those who are tampering with Hindu Muslim unity to give up their negative attitude, otherwise history will never forgive them.

Mughals came to our country in the 1500th century. This truth is recorded in the books of the Government of India and in the history of the country. Dargah Committee is a statutory body established under the Khwaja Saheb Act, 1955. Most of the shops near the Dargah are owned by Hindus. Mahatma Gandhi also visited the Ajmer Sharif Dargah during his visit to India. The local court has not made Anjuman Syed Zadgan, the institution of the dargah’s khadims, a party. In 1950, a committee of Judge Ghulam Hasan investigated and confirmed the existence of a Dargah here. History is witness that Hindu kings also used to come here to pay their respects. The most unfortunate situation is that the Parliament of India made a law in 1991 that before 15 August 1947, wherever there was a temple, the temple will remain. Where there was a mosque, the mosque will remain there.

No one has the right to tamper with it. Whether the religious places belong to Hindus or Muslims, their status will remain as it is. He has said that the head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat, has said in June 2022 that digging under every mosque is not justified from a religious point of view. As far as dargahs are concerned, they are a symbol of social harmony. Whether it is Abbu Lala’s dargah in Agra or Sheikh Salim Chishti’s dargah in Fatehpur Sikri and the dargahs in various cities and rural areas, the number of Hindus at these dargahs is much more than Muslims due to their religious beliefs and Hindus make wishes at these dargahs.

The situation is such that the highest person holding constitutional posts has visited Ajmer Sharif’s dargah. The prominent leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Indresh Kumar, has also offered a chaadar here. The Prime Minister also offers a chaadar at the dargah every year. Dargahs are a symbol of our social harmony, Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb and our ancient culture and are also a wonderful example of Hindu-Muslim unity. Some people see all the Mughal rulers including Babar in their dreams at night. They should understand that the Muslims of India do not consider themselves to be the descendants of the Mughals but the descendants of Prophet Muhammad, Sufi saints and feel proud of their Indian heritage. We strongly condemn the forces that spoil social harmony. We are against those who tamper with Hindu-Muslim unity. We urge them to give up their negative attitude, otherwise history will never forgive them.
