A new chapter has been added to the golden history of a Kayamkhani family of Nua village in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan when Colonel Ishrat, daughter of late Colonel Zaki Ahmed of late Liaquat Ali Khan IGP family and sister of Brigadier Saqib Hussain, took over command of a large Ordnance Army unit in Meerut recently. Colonel Ishrat is the first Muslim woman officer of Rajasthan to command such a large unit. This is a matter of proud for the family as well as the Muslim community of the country.

This family is serving the nation as well as the state for long by joining top posts of Administrative Service and Police Service as well as Army.

Colonel Ishrat’s father Zaki Ahmed was a Lieutenant Colonel and brother Shakib is a Brigadier in the Army. Father Colonel Zaki Ahmed died in November 1995 in Bikaner while in army service. In the family of Colonel Ishrat, late Liaqat Ali Khan IPS was IG Police. Ashfaq Hussain IAD and Zakir Hussain IAS, both being Indian Administrative Service IAS officers, have also held the post of District Collector. The family’s son-in-law Kamrul Zaman Chaudhary IAS is currently Sikar District Collector. This family has dominance in Rajasthan Administrative Service. In which Shaheen Khan RAS, Monica Shaheen Khan DIG JAIL, Salim Khan RAS, Sana Khan RAS, Javed Khan RAS. Aijazun Nabi Khan is Joint Secretary in the Finance Department, and Farah Hussain is IRS.

The family of Kayamkhani community of Rajasthan’s Muslim community is serving the country by serving in important positions in the Indian and State Administrative and Police Services, besides serving on high positions in the Army. This family always remains at the forefront in doing social service while completing government services with full devotion.
