Intense cold wave conditions continue to grip several parts of India as temperatures dropped at several places in the region. In Delhi, the minimum temperature dropped to 3 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal.

In Uttar Pradesh, Muzaffarnagar was recorded as the coldest place in the state with a minimum temperature of 1.2 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab and Haryana, capital Chandigarh braved the chill at 4 degrees Celsius, down two degrees against normal limits.

In Odisha, the mercury plummeted to 3 degree Celsius in Daringibadi in Kandhamal district, making it the coldest place in the state.

The Met Department has forecast moderate fog for the next three to four days over the northern plains and the northeastern states of the country.
