Moily said the Centre has fixed a target of reducing 40 percent pending cases in sub-ordinate courts by the end of this year. Stressing on speedy justice at cheaper cost to all section of the society, Moily sought the co-operation from public, advocates, Government and Judiciary for successful implementation of the scheme.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee welcomed the Center’s move and also suggested to launch e-governance in all sub-ordinate courts for speedy delivery of justice.
The Centre has fixed a target to reduce pending cases in all the High Courts in the country from 15 years to 3 years besides sub-ordinate courts under this project. 13 thousand crore rupees will be spent this year for the project out of total allocation of 21 thousand crore rupees for 3 years.
