Hospital authorities said that the children were brought to the hospital in a critical condition. They have been suffering from Septicemia and low weight complaints.
The Superintendent of the Hospital Mr. Dileep Pal said that most of the babies were brought to the hospital at the last stage with Septicemia and low birth weight problems. However the relatives of the dead children have blamed the hospital authorities for negligence.
State government has formed two members committee to probe the cause of child death. The Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee who also hold the health portfolio said that the committee has been asked to submit its report within 24 hours.
