The Central study team reached Madhya Pradesh today on a three-day tour to assess the damage caused by heavy rains and floods.
It is to be mentioned that due to incessant heavy rains in the state in the last days of August caused flooding in many districts. The study team will return to Delhi on 12th of September.
The team led by Joint Secretary Ashutosh Agnihotri comprises officers of the Ministry of Agriculture, Finance, Water Resources, Road Transport and Highways and Rural Development.
The Central Study Team will visit the flood affected districts Sehore, Raisen, Hoshangabad, Harda and Dewas to assess the flood-affected crops and other damage.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that loss caused by the floods will be compensated fully by the government to the affected people.
The State Government will provide an amount of one lakh to two lakh rupeesas assistance for reconstruction of the house. 50 kg free food grain will also be provided to each flood affected person.
