In Uttar Pradesh, CBI has made a second arrest in the Unnao rape case. The agency arrested a woman who is a close associate of the prime accused, BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
Meanwhile, a special court in Lucknow yesterday sent the MLA, to a seven-day CBI custody.
“Victim’ mother in Unnao gang rape case has accused that Shashi Singh was the lady who allegedly took her teenage daughter to Sengar. She has also alleged in the FIR filed in this case that Shashi Singh was present at the spot when the incident happened.
CBI yesterday interrogated Shashi Singh about the incident. CBI can cross-examine the statements given by accused MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in presence of Shashi Singh. So that they can elaborate the inconsistencies found in Sengar’s statements over the rape case.
CBI also interrogated the six policemen of Unnao Police who were suspended in this case and were detained by the agency. Yesterday local CBI Court sent BJP MLA for 7 days CBI custody. CBI team has conducted the medical examination of Victim and may call her again to Lucknow for interrogation.
