Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Chikkaballapur constituency for the BJP candidate Dr K Sudhakar and for the JD(S) Kolar candidate Mallesh Babu. Saying that he has come to present his report card and also to seek the blessings of the people, he said that the first phase of the election was in favour of Viksit Bharat. He informed that SC, ST and OBC communities have benefited from the policies of his Government, pointing out that over 25 crore people were brought above the poverty line.
Mr. Modi informed that the Scheduled Caste community students’ enrolment in higher education increased by 65 per cent, ST students increased by 45 per cent and OBC students increased their presence by 45 per cent. He said, his Government supported Self Help Groups, one crore lakhpati didies were empowered and farmers benefited from the expansion in the Cooperative sector. He charged that the INDI alliance has no leaders and no vision.
Former Prime Minister and JD (S) leader Deve Gowda who spoke on the occasion said that the corrupt Congress Government had emptied the coffers when it left the Government in 2014.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah has released a statement on the Prime Minister’s visit to Karnataka. He asked the Prime Minister to inform the electorate on how many of his manifesto promises were implemented. He charged that the Surya Ghar Muft Bijli programme as promised in the BJP manifesto has put the burden on the poor as they have to bear the cost of the solar panels. He also said that AIIMS was not set up in all the states as promised by the Prime Minister in the 2014 manifesto.
Later today, Prime Minister Modi addressed a rally in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru. He once again expressed his commitment to work 24 by 7 for 2047 Viksit Bharat. He said the aspirations of the masses are his resolutions. Speaking on his 10 years of governance, the BJP leader said that when he took over the reins of the Government in Delhi, India had a fragile five-economy status, banks were in crisis due to NPAs and foreign investors were worried about their investments.
He stressed that today India is the fifth largest economy, there is record foreign investments, exports and manufacturing sectors are growing rapidly. Mr Modi said India is a major exporter of mobile phones, mobile data charges have come down, Bengaluru is benefitting from a metro line, suburban rail project, modern airport, Satellite town ring road and the generation of employment due to the growth in the private sector. He said, the middle class has benefited due to the RERA Act regulating the real estate sector, due to the interest subsidy given on housing loans, Jan Aaushadhi and Make in India and Vande Bharat projects. He accused the congress government in the state of reducing Bengaluru into a tanker city with people left to the mercy of the water mafia. He also accused the Congress-led state Government of cutting the budget on development projects.
