Campaigning for assembly elections is gaining momentum. Senior leaders of BJP are in the state today for campaigning.
These leaders include Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Party’s National President Amit Shah and Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. Mr. Jaitley today released vision document of BJP for the assembly polls. Mr Shah will hold roadshows and public meetings in Mohanpur, Chawmanu and Teliamura Mr Gadkari will address election rallies in Bagma, Golaghati and Rajnagar today.
Senior leaders of CPIM and Congress from other states are in Tripura for campaigning. Congress leader and Puducherry’s Chief Minister V.Narayansami will hold the public meeting in Surjamaninagar constituency.
CPIM Politbureau member Brinda Karat will address rally in Ranirbazar and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will address rallies in Sonamura and Agartala.
Election department of Tripura has launched a mobile app, named ‘Tripura Assembly Election 2018’. With this app, voters quoting their EPIC number can know about the profile of his or her polling booth, where it is located, how to reach and duration of casting vote.
The app includes about the observers, booths and other information. The app can be downloaded from Google play store. The app has come into operational from yesterday.
The voting for the 60 member assembly will be held on 18th of this month and counting will take place on 3rd March.
