Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has termed the former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s meeting with Pakistani delegation as misadventure. He said, seeking the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s apology for flagging the issue of meeting is beyond comprehension.
Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Monday Mr. Jaitley asked Congress to come out with details of what transpired in the meeting held at Mani Shankar Aiyar’s residence recently.
He said, the main opposition party should also clarify what was the necessity to hold such a meeting in present circumstances. He wondered at Manmohan Singh’s demand for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s apology instead of responding to the issue raised by Mr. Modi.
The Minister said, the Congress which was denying the meeting till yesterday, is now blaming those raising the issue. He said, it is not the first time that Congress leadership has made such a misadventure. Mr. Jaitley also said, the present regime has better track record in fighting terrorism than previous governments.
