PATNA: Former Home secretary and BJP MP from Ara R K Singh today accused his party of selling Bihar assembly election tickets to criminals.

Singh reportedly targeted former deputy CM and a frontrunner among BJP’s CM aspirants Sushil Kumar Modi and said, “Popular sitting MLAs are denied tickets and criminals are being given the tickets. No wonder party workers are enraged in Bihar.” A number of senior leaders quit party posts or have protested in other ways against denial of ticket from the BJP.

“What is the difference between you (BJP) and Lalu Prasad if you give tickets to criminals?” Singh asked. He further accused the state unit of not doing justice to people of Bihar by giving the tickets to the criminals. “If people believe that your government will provide good governance, then you should act in same way. What good governance will you deliver this way? People would vote for the clean image candidates than that of the criminals,” he added

Allegation baseless: BJP

BJP today termed party MP R K Singh’s allegation that money has changed hands for tickets in the Bihar Assembly elections as baseless.  Party Secretary Shrikant Sharma said Mr Singh is new in the party and he should try to understand the BJP. He said the MP’s remark is unfortunate.

Earlier, the former Home Secretary R K Singh alleged that BJP is giving tickets to criminals and wondered how the party will give a clean government in the Bihar.
