Congress alleged that ruling BJP is misusing money, muscle and political powers to impact the Rajya sabha elections and also attempting to buy its MLA’s. This was alleged by Party’s National Spokesperson Mr. Randip Surjewala in a press conference at Ahmdabad on Friday evening.
Addressing the media at party’s state headquarters, Mr. Surjewala said that Election Commission should take cognizance of the incidents and must register a criminal complaint. He said that this is a serious matter and Election Commission must file complaint under the provision of representation of peoples act, IPC and prevention of corruption. He said that BJP is trampling and murdering the democracy and denigrating the constitutional mores in broad-day light.
Congress Party has also produced four party MLAs in a press conference who claimed that they were offered money for switching the loyalty.
Meanwhile, BJP has denied all allegations levelled by the Congress party. Senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has said that MLAs are quitting the Congress party for due to increasing groupisum and internal fighting. He said that instead of making allegations, Congress party should answer the questions raised by its legislative party leader Shankarsinh Vaghela.
