The Communist party of India (Marxsist) (CPIM) has nominated acclaimed lawyer and former Mayor Mr. Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya as candidate for Rajya Sabha elections. Left front Chairman Biman Basu announced the decision at a press conference today. Congress yesterday nominate Dr. Mr. Pradip Bhattacharya for the same.
This is a clear indication that the Left-Cong alliance will foresee a crack. Instead of supporting the Congress’s choice, CPM fielded their own candidate for the upcoming polls.TMC has decided to support Congress’s candidate in the polls.
