Zakir Hossain from Dhaka

Bangladesh and Pakistan will hold the 9th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting in Dhaka on Oct 27, resuming the forum after a long gap. The announcement came during a meeting between Pakistan’s High Commissioner Imran Haider and Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain on Thursday.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over progress in visa simplification and resumption of air connectivity and praised recent high-level exchanges, including the visit of Pakistan’s Deputy PM and FM in August and the 6th Foreign Secretary-level talks in April. They discussed bilateral trade, cooperation, and regional issues. Hossain assured Haider of “full cooperation” during his tenure in Dhaka.
