Bangladesh’s Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin on Sunday said the Election Commission (EC) has made “significant progress” ahead of the 13th parliamentary polls, assuring that “everyone will be able to cast their votes, including those in prison.”
He highlighted reforms including a door-to-door verified voter list, reduced gender gap, amendments to nine election-related laws, and IT-supported postal ballots for nearly one million officials who work on polling day.
“We are committed to a fair, transparent and credible election. Your advice will guide us,” Nasir told intellectuals and civil society at an EC dialogue in Dhaka.
