Aiyazuddin played for Hyderabad under-19 cricket team. Mohammed Ayazuddin has been hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle accident here today.

His friend and cousin Ajmal-ur-Rehman, 16, was riding as pillion died from head injuries.

According to police Ayazuddin has been admitted to the city’s Apollo Hospital.

The 18-year-old has received head injuries in the mishap. Ayazuddin was driving a Suzuki GSX-R1000 sports bike, which skidded off the road and crashed.

Ayazuddin was on his way to Gachibowli from the airport, when he lost control of the 1000 CC mobike and skidded. Commuters driving back to the city in cars witnessed the high-speed accident and called in the police. A police patrol vehicle of Rayadurg station reached the accident spot within minutes.
Azharuddin, who is a Congress leader and a member of the Lok Sabha, is reportedly on his way back to Hyderabad from London.

Ayazuddin is the younger of Azharuddin’s two sons from his former wife, Naureen. Both he and Asaduddin, the elder son, are cricketers.

Chief Surgeon Dr Mahesh Joshi said the boys were wheeled in to the hospital at 9 am and had no pulse.

“They had both gone into a state of cardiac arrest. In spite of our best efforts we could not revive Ajmal. Aiyazuddin has suffered serious injuries on his head, chest and abdomen and is at present undergoing surgery,” Joshi said.

Ayazuddin underwent an emergency surgery at Apollo Hospital to stop bleeding in his chest. However, his condition continued to be critical and a multi-speciality team of doctors was closely monitoring his condition, a hospital bulletin said on Sunday night.

A medical bulletin said that Ayazuddin (19) and Ajmal-ur-Rehman (16) were brought to the Apollo Hospital at 9.35 a.m. Both of them were brought in a state of cardiac arrest.

A team of doctors worked on both of them. After about one-and-half hours Ajmal-ur-rehman could not be revived and was declared dead.
