The Centre today sought a report from Chhattisgarh government on the vandalisation of a church near Raipur. Talking to media on the sideline of a function in New Delhi, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said police have already taken necessary action and the guilty will not be spared. Seven persons have been arrested in connection with the attack on the church. Yesterday some persons attacked and vandalized a church during Sunday prayer in the state capital Raipur.
A group of youths stormed the church and attacked worshippers alleging religious conversion. Five people, including two women sustained minor injuries. Chhattisgarh christian association had demanded stern action on the incident.
