ULFA leader Anup Chetia was today remanded to 14 days judicial custody by a Special CBI Magistrate in Guwahati, at the end of his five-day CBI custody. His lawyer told reporters that the ULFA leader was sent to judicial custody and will be produced before court on 5th December. He will be lodged in Guwahati Central Jail.

48-year-old Chetia was arrested by CBI in connection with a murder in Golaghat area of Assam. He was produced in the CBI Court on November 18 which remanded him to CBI custody for five days. At the end of the CBI remand, Chetia was produced before the court today amidst tight security.

The ULFA general Secretary was brought to Guwahati this morning from Delhi and was directly taken from the airport to Assam Police Special Branch headquarters at Kahilipara before being produced in the court in the evening.
