On Teachers’ Day, Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Uttar Pradesh government, stressing the urgent need to reopen closed primary schools across the state. He said that “only education can awaken social and political consciousness among the exploited, deprived, poor, and marginalized communities.”
Keeping this message in mind, the SP is organizing a statewide program titled “Pathshala Pukare” on Friday in closed primary schools.
Party Slogan
The party’s slogan is: “When closed schools reopen, PDA will study.” Yadav released a poster on social media platform X, attacking the government and announcing that the SP will hold “Pathshala Pukare” events in all 26,000 primary schools shut down by the BJP government.
Core Objective
The campaign aims to send a clear message: “If closed schools reopen, PDA will study.” Yadav emphasized that the spirit behind the program is to prioritize education, which alone can:
- Challenge dominance and discrimination
- End social inequality
- Build an environment of justice and equality
- Fulfill the pledge of a “Bandhu Rashtra” (fraternal nation)
Past Commitment ; Earlier, Yadav had promised that if the SP comes to power in Uttar Pradesh, all 26,000 closed primary schools would be reopened. He accused the BJP government of shutting down government schools instead of prioritizing education, disproportionately affecting students from the PDA category (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak — backward, Dalit, and minority communities).
Yadav reiterated that education is the key to creating awareness, strengthening the path toward equality, and ensuring social justice in deprived and marginalized societies.
