At least eight people were killed and more than 15 others wounded in a car bomb in Kabul on Sunday. A security official said, the car bomb was detonated in the west of the capital. A health ministry official also confirmed the blast. Interior ministry spokesman Tariq Arian blamed terrorists for the attack, and said casualties included women and children.Television footage showed at least two cars on fire, with plumes of thick black smoke blowing into the sky.
Kabul has been hit by a wave of deadly violence in recent months despite the Taliban and government engaging in peace talks to end the country’s long conflict. No group has so far claimed responsibility.
