Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has said that the deployment of additional troops in Jammu and Kashmir was aimed at foiling attempts by terrorists to enter India from across the border and the move has nothing to do with the ongoing unrest in the Valley.
He said, Army does not act in internal matters unless requested by the local administration.
Minister was speaking after commissioning Coast Guard ship ‘Sarathi’ in Goa where home minister Rajnath Singh was alos present.
On the Kashmir situation, the Home Minister said, there is a lot of improvement and the unrest would be brought under control soon.
