Rescue and relief works are carrying on in the flood affected Sirohi, Jalore, Pali and Barmer districts of Rajasthan. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje yesterday conducted an aerial survey of the flood affected areas. She announced to enhance the financial assistance to the flood victims.

Chief Minister also directed to restore and repair the bridges and roads which had been damaged due to heavy downpour. Mrs Raje also asked the officials to give the relief to the affected farmers.the Chief Minister has also directed to Medical department to be alert.

The Rajasthan government has announced a compensation of one lakh each to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives in the floods.

An official release yesterday said, government also announced compensation of 25 thousand rupees each for those critically injured and 10 thousand rupees each for those who sustained minor injuries.

The relief amount will be provided from the chief minister’s relief fund for the flood affected Jalore, Sirohi, Pali and Barmer districts.

The decision was taken at a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. The CM also instructed the officials to conduct a survey of villages where losses to crops are more than 50 per cent.

Earlier in the day, Raje visited flood-hit areas in Jalore and Sirohi and reviewed the situation there.
