The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has pulled up Railways for delay in re-building old Kiul Bridge, situated between Kiul and Luckeesarai stations on main line under East Central Railway (ECR), which has compromised safety of passengers.
The bridge was built in the year 1862.
After sanctioning of regirdering work by Railway Board in 2003-04, General Manager, ECR inspected the bridge and pointed out that the Bridge is a distressed bridge having serious corrosion problem and as a permanent measure, it needs to be rebuilt.
