The Amarnathji Shrine Board has decided to enhance the group insurance cover for the pilgrims and service providers from existing Rs one lakh to Rs three lakh.
The board manages the annual yatra to the 3,880 metre high holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas.
Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra, who is chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, announced the enhanced group insurance during a visit to various camps en-route the holy cave shrine.
Vohra was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer of the Board Umang Narula. Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to begin from Thursday.
