In a major political development in Nagaland, altogether 39 MLAs of the 60 member Legislative Assembly, and Rajya Sabha member KG Kenye have pledged to support the ruling Naga People’s Front (NPF) President Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu as the next Chief Minister and break the deadlock.
The meeting was of the opinion that the resignation of Chief Minister T.R Zeliang is the only solution to end the stalemate of public uprising. However, the NPF is resolved to wait for Chief Minister Zeliang to go ahead with making any decision. It is reported that the Chief Minister is still in Delhi awaiting to meet the Central leaders.
