Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi today demanded that the government lift restrictions on withdrawal of money with immediate effect. In a tweet, Mr Gandhi said, all charges on digital transactions should be abolished forthwith.
Yesterday, the Reserve Bank of India had increased cash withdrawal limit from ATMs to 4,500 rupees from existing 2,500 rupees per day per card with effect from 1st of January. There is no change in weekly withdrawal limit.
The Congress Vice president has also demanded that a special one time bonus of 20 per cent should be provided over and above the Mininimum Support Price of all Rabi crops. Mr. Gandhi also said that the number of guaranteed work days and the wage rate under MGNREGA should be doubled for one year.
