More than 26 thousand people have been rescued by the NDRF from flood-affected areas in Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and other states this monsoon season.
It said besides the rescue work, NDRF teams have provided medical care to the more than nine thousand people in these states.
NDRF has fanned out 56 rescue and relief teams to help people hit by heavy rains in various states.
In Bihar yesterday, NDRF teams evacuated 3,400 people. In Uttar Pradesh, 875 people were rescued yesterday. 147 marooned people were shifted to safer places from Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh.
