Former BJP leader Dayashankar Singh, arrested for making derogatory remarks against BSP Chief Mayawati, has been sent to a 14-day judicial custody.
The Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police had arrested Singh from Buxar in Bihar. He was produced before a local court in Maunath Bhanjan also known as Mau.
Singh is facing a case under SC/ST Act and other sections of Indian Penal Code.
