CM Ahkilesh Yadav expresses grief over accident

up-mapEight persons mostly schools children were killed and 6 injured in Bhadohi school bus accident in Uttar Pradesh.

According to District Magistrate Bhadohi there were 14 persons in the bus, mostly school kids, which collided with Allahabad bound passenger train coming from Varanasi near Meghipur village under Aurai police station at 7.30 at unmanned railway crossing today morning.

Six kids were killed on the spot while eight others including the school bus driver have been injured. All have been admitted to hospitals and five of them are reported to be serious.

A railway employee deputed at the unmanned crossing signalled the bus driver to stop but he did not pay any heed to it. The train engine barely touched the back portion of the school bus and it was severely damaged within moments several lives were lost.

Expressing shock and grief over the incident, Chief minister Ahkilesh Yadav has announced Rupees two lakhs each to the kin of the dead.

All the senior railway and administrative officials immediately reached the accident site to take stock of the situation. However, no damage was done to train and rail route and trains are plying normally.
