
Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali has sought the support of the global community to fight terrorism and violent extremism in the country.
Briefing diplomats and representatives of international agencies in Dhaka today after Friday’s gruesome terror attack which claimed 22 lives, Mahmood Ali said Dhaka would continue to work with other countries, regional bodies and the UN to fight terrorism. He assured diplomats of the government’s resolve to root out terrorism and militancy.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman told media today that 5 of the slain gunmen have been identified by their guardians. Police are interrogating the parents of the killers as well as 3 other suspects who were rescued from the cafe. They include a UK citizen of Bangladeshi origin and a Canadian-Bangladeshi.
