Mumbai city and its adjoining areas are experiencing rainfall from last 48 hours with the MeT Department predicting heavy rainfall in next 24 hours. Mumbai city recorded over 64 mm in last 24 hours while the western suburban area received nearly 61 mm rainfall.
However, normal life has not much been affected by rainfall as there has been no major cases of water logging or traffic jam and local trains are running more or less on time. BMC officials claimed that there has been no case of tree felling or landslide during last 12 hours.
Meanwhile, the Met Department has forecast for heavy rainfall in next 24 hours and has advised fisherman against venturing into the sea.
