Saudi king and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Sunday congratulated Saudi citizens and Muslims around the world on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
In his message, read by Culture and Information Minister Adel Al-Toraifi, the king said: “We are thankful to Allah Who enabled us to reach the holy month of Ramadan, the month of Qur’an, mercy, forgiveness and emancipation from the fire.”

He thanked Allah for “giving the country (Kingdom) best and preferred good, virtue, position and elevation, being the cradle of revelation and from where the flares of prophethood were set off and which Allah gave a special position to be the land of the Two Holy Mosques and destination of Muslims for their prayers.”

He said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, since its establishment by the late King Abdulaziz, has made the unity of Islamic and Arab nations a continuous objective and has been keen to realize it as soon as possible.

“In this month of mercy, we should remember that the whole world is suffering from the disease of terrorism. It (terrorism) has crossed the boundaries of nations, spoiled relations between fathers and sons, families and groups,” he said.

“Islam is the religion of mercy, compassion, love, and moderation. It calls for peace, justice, and renounces violence and extremism,” the king added.

Also on Sunday, the king received Bangladesh Premier Sheikh Hasina, wishing her a pleasant stay in the Kingdom. She expressed her thanks and appreciation to the King for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.

Also Sunday, Foreign Minster Adel Al-Jubeir and his Bangaldeshi counterpart Abu Al-Hassan Mahmoud Ali signed a memorandum of understanding to promote bilateral relations. The premier also received Finance Minister of Ibrahim Al-Assaf and Information and Culture Minister Adel Al-Toraifi.
