There is no imminent danger to Odisha from cyclone Roanu as it is now distancing from the Odisha coast and moving towards Bangladesh.
As per the information from the regional Meterological department, the cyclonic storm, which had formed in North-West Bay of Bengal, is now moving in the east and north-east direction, 160 kilometers away from the Paradip Coast.
The storm is now centered at around 435 kilometer away from Chittagong in Bangladesh and is cyclone is expected to move to Bangladesh coast near Khepupara and Cox Bazaar in evening today.
Odisha will witness rains at northern coast for the next 24 hours because of its influence. Certain places are likely to witness heavy rains.
However, the sea would remain rough and hence fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea.
Many places of Odisha experienced rains yesterday. Paradip had 164 mm rainfall, followed by 86 mm in Puri and 31 mm in Bhubaneswar.
