At least 19 people were killed and 15 injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Pakistan today. Police said the accident took place near Theekriwala in Punjab due to speeding and reckless driving. According to official data, more than 4,600 people were killed in road traffic accidents in 2013 and poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving are cited as common reasons behind accidents in Pakistan.

11 killed in two road accidents in Afghanistan

At least 11 people were killed and more than fifty injured in Helmand province in two separate traffic accidents. The first incident took place in Washir district after a bus crashed, killing seven people, and injuring more than forty five others. Four people were killed in second accident happened in Gereshk district after a car crashed into a vehicle transporting national army soldiers.
