Haryana Cabinet, which met today at Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, has approved the draft of Jat Reservation Bill. Cabinet has also approved legal status to the State Backward Commission. The bill was not tabled in the Vidhansabha today.

Notably government had assured the Jat bodies the bill will be brought in the Vidhansabha in the ongoing session after which they have postponed their proposed fresh agitation till March 31.

Meanwhile Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today said that the Bill on Reservation for Jats could be brought any day in the ongoing session of the State Assembly, which would continue for three more days.

He said that there is no confusion in this regard as a promise has already been made to introduce the Bill in the Vidhan Sabha. Therefore, it can be in the list of business any day.
