RijijuThe government has said internal security situation in the country is under control with regard to terrorism in the hinterland. Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said the cases related to terrorists attack at Dinanagar in Gurdaspur and Pathankot Air Base in Punjab are being investigated.

He said, Punjab police is investigating Dinanagar case while Pathankot attack case is being probed by National Investigation Agency, NIA. The Minister said investigation in both the cases are in progress.

Mr Rijiju informed the subsequent investigation into Pathankot terrorists attack by the NIA, disclosed that the terrorist belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit based in Pakistan. He said India has shared the relevant information about involvement of Pak nationals with Pakistan government. He informed that Pakistan has registered a case to investigate the role of Pakistani elements involved in this terrorist attack.

To counter cross border terrorism, the Centre is coordinating with the states and has adopted multi-pronged approach including strengthening of border management improved use of technology and better intelligence and operational coordination.
