The leader of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti Hardik Patel has been shifted to new civil hospital of Surat in Gujarat, due to health reasons. He had started an indefinite fast in the Lajpore Central Jail of Surat from Thursday.
According to sources, he had started hunger strike against inhuman attitude of prison authorities and release of Patel youths detained by police under various cases. Patel has been in jail following two different sedition cases.
He was in jail in connection with two different sedition cases registered after quota agitation turned violent. AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that Hardik had started fast at a time when other top leaders of Patel community recently met Chief Minister Anandiben Patel to work out the compromise formula for release of Patel youths including Hardik Patel.
