The Centre has asked Haryana government to provide security to people and property by ensuring law and order in the State in the wake of Jat agitation over reservation.

This was conveyed by Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha to Haryana Chief Secretary DS Dhesi and DGP Yashpal Singhal at a meeting of National Crisis Management Committee through video- conferencing.

During the meeting, Mr Sinha reviewed law and order situation in the State.

Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and others senior officers were also present in the meeting.

Haryana Governor, CM appeal to protesters to maintain peace

Haryana Governor Professor Kaptan Singh Solanki on Saturday appealed to all the agitators to call off their agitation and resolve the issue by sitting across the table. In a statement, he said violence is no solution to any problem rather it creates hurdles in the path of development and prosperity.

Mr. Solanki also appealed to all political parties and social bodies of Haryana to help in resolving the ongoing agitation.

Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar has appealed to the protesters to maintain peace and come forward for talks to solve the reservation issue.

Meanwhile, in Haryana, Curfew has been imposed in district towns of Bhiwani, Rohtak, Jhajjar and Jind. Small towns of Beri, Bahadurgarh, Meham are also under curfew.

Shoot at sight orders have been issued in Jind,Bhiwani and Rohtak. Army has been deployed in 9 districts and army is conducting flag march at different places.

More than 450 trains remained cancelled on Saturday while routes of 250 trains have also been changed.
