scSupreme Court today issued notice on fresh plea of ex-Arunachal Pradesh Cheif Minister Nabam Tuki against imposition of President’s Rule in the state. Mr. Tuki had last Friday filed a fresh petition in the Supreme Court challenging the promulgation.

The apex court has also recalled its notice issued to Arunachal Pradesh Governor Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa in the case. The Court agreed to the contention that Governor enjoys complete immunity in judicial proceedings.

A five-judge bench of apex court had on Wednesday last sought replies from the Governor and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, while admitting petitions filed by the Congress leaders over the imposition of the President’s rule. President Pranab Mukherjee had on Tuesday last given his assent to Union Cabinet’s decision to impose the President’s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh.
